Resilience - an ability to recover from or adjust easily to

                                                            misfortune or change

                                                                                                                 (from the Mirriam-Webster Online Dictionary @ www.mirriamwebster.com)

One of my defining characteristics is that I am resilient. I don't give up. I may change my course or alter my goals, but no matter what happens giving up is not an option. It took me quite a while to see the resilience in my life.  When I think of resilience, I think of incredibly strong people who have overcome almost insurmountable obstacles, endured unspeakable pain, or survived formidable challenges.  That wasn't me.  Just like any life, mine has had its challenges, but I have not viewed them as outstanding.  My faith, values and character all instinctively tell me to rise when life pushes me to my knees.  I am not sure that I agree with Mirriam-Webster in that resilience is an easy adjustment.  One day sitting at a red light on my way home from work, my life changed in a heart-beat. A series of events followed that have made me question whether or not I will be able to find hope during the darkest and most challenging periods of my life.  This blog chronicles my attempt to find both a sense of hope and resilience again.  Thank you for reading my story and following my journey.  It is my hope that you will be able to relate your own struggles and triumphs to mine, thus finding your own resilience!  - Stephanie
